The first thing Umbridge did after returning from the infirmary was to create more rules on the bulletin board.
During her recovery, the Ministry of Magic sent important officials to come and express whether they needed to help investigate the incident. However, Umbridge almost jumped out of the hospital bed when the person responsible was finally identified as Val, a non-existent house-elf.
However, it is unknown whether Umbridge refused to give up or the Ministry of Magic refused. She came back with new rules—a huge one, enough to cover the entire bulletin board.
Even the people who helped her put the rules were not Filch but the new assistant investigators.
Sean came over after hearing the news and saw her ‘assistant.
His long yellowish-brown hair was draped over his shoulders like Lucius Malfoy’s, and his face had that gloomy pride. It’s just that the Guards’ uniform has replaced the Nurmengard uniform on his body.
It was Fabian Aiken.
He stood beside Umbridge with an arrogant smile on his pale face.
Fabian immediately noticed Sean appearing in the crowd. The resentment flashed in his eyes, and the excitement of discovering the prey immediately appeared on his face.
“Oh, Wallup,” He took a step forward, “It’s been a long time, my friend.”
Sean didn’t mean to greet him at all, just glanced at him casually, “Although I know you just want to maintain your cool. I know you’re probably just getting this for your own benefit, but are you going to be helpful at all by being here?”
Fabian raised the corner of his mouth, “You’re still the same, Wallup.”
Umbridge stepped forward, “Wallup, mind your words. I give you up in punishment for that. Mr. Aiken is a member of the United Wizards Guard, and he was sent to the British Ministry of Magic to help me with my work.”
Sean blinked his eyes. From the looks of it, his father found a good job for his son. Umbridge should also know some of his background.
Fabian stroked his chest in a gentlemanly manner, “Thank you for your words, ma’am.”
“What an outstanding young man. As expected of an outstanding graduate from Nurmengard, he is much more likable than some brats.” Umbridge admired him and looked at Sean sternly.
“Of course, I am willing to cooperate with you to correct some immature children’s wrong thoughts and actions.” Fabian responded with a smile.
Sean didn’t mean to be angry. It’s just that the two of them going well together made him a bit disgusted.
Fabian turned his head to look at Sean again, “It’s a pity that we can’t be friends. Oh, Wallup, now I’m an assistant investigator, and the British Ministry of Magic has personally accepted my role. In the future, please call me with a ‘Sir’.”
Umbridge sneered and nodded, “Hogwarts students should respect the staff of the Ministry of Magic.”
Fabian smiled, “If you call me that, I will recommend you to Mrs. Umbridge to join the special operations investigation team. How is it? A good deal, isn’t it?”
Sean’s eyes narrowed. Umbridge kept staring at him, and if Sean refused, she would immediately give him a punishment.
Hermione squeezed Sean’s robe sleeve with some worry.
“Thank you, sir. But I have a lot of things to do in my study. After all, I’m only in the third grade.” Sean didn’t say anything malicious but just smiled.
Fabian gave a surprised expression and moved closer to Sean, “Sorry, I didn’t hear that clearly.”
“I said, thank you, sir.” Sean also moved closer and whispered in his ear.
“Very well, Wallup.”
Fabian closed his eyes with great enjoyment like a person who had been fulfilled. Sean’s face stiffened little by little, and he left quickly. Fabian didn’t force him to trouble him anymore but put on a playful smile.
The students gradually dispersed; Umbridge snorted and said, “Fabian, you did a good job. I believe his character will become more and more rebellious later.”
Fabian said softly, “Ma’am, don’t worry about him. I have dealt with him too much. Sean Wallup is usually like this and likes to show his flaws to others deliberately. After being provoked by my words just now, that expression is probably faked, and the purpose is nothing more than to let us lower our vigilance and expand our ego.”
Her eyes suddenly darkened when she heard his words, “This scheming Mudblood.”
“Don’t be angry, ma’am,” He said lightly, “We are naturally in an advantageous position, and the Guards sent me here to help you complete your work.”
“I hope you won’t disappoint me, Fabian.”
“Of course. When will those two students be discharged from the hospital?”
“Tomorrow.”
“We can start right away…” Little Aiken licked his lips, “I want to see how vulnerable the so-called unity is in a school with divided groups.”
On the other side, Sean’s expression disappeared instantly after turning a corner with Hermione and stepping up the stairs. He did pretend to show it to him on purpose. After all, although it is unpleasant to call him sir.
The Guards have set up offices in various countries, but they are only responsible for part of the work that originally belonged to the Aurors. The Ministry of Magic exercises jurisdiction over Hogwarts. Logically speaking, the Guards cannot get involved in this kind of internal work.
The arrival of Fabian is not a good signal. After Sean loses contact with Barty Jr., he has too little knowledge of the Ministry of Magic. There must be a way to find out more.
Hermione had been watching his expression, and she breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Sean had returned to normal as soon as he reached the empty stairs and then fell into thinking.
Hearing the voice, Sean turned his head and asked with a smile, “What’s wrong? You think I’m not calm when I’m angry and already thinking about how to beat that person?”
Hermione replied, “I knew that you would act like this.”
Hearing this, Sean chuckled, “You guessed it right.”
Hermione choked for a moment but then warned, “That idiot came here at a coincidental time.”
“Yes, I didn’t even see his follower. Since he dared to come, he has confidence. In fact, he was also acting just now and eager to humiliate me. Just think about it. For a guy who has been defeated so many times, no matter how stupid he is, he would get up every time to fight back. I have to say that he has a quality that is worth learning and quite resilient.”
Hermione looked at Sean, who was, and suddenly, her worries were reduced a lot.
Umbridge started her high-pressure management with a lot of rules. In addition to the Potions class that she ignored, she kept walking around in the castle. She was constantly patrolling the corridors, and whenever a student passed by, they would be reprimanded because of the ‘improving the school’s morals and appearance’ rules.
In addition, with the help of the assistant Investigator, even if the students of the four houses cover each other, it will not be of much use. Umbridge caught a few mischievous students on her first day back. Even though Professor McGonagall strongly objected, she still insisted on going her own way and prepared to punish those students with severe methods.
The students finally realize that life on Hogwarts is starting to go wrong. But on the second day, something more serious happened.
“Please be quiet, everyone.” Early in the morning, Umbridge rudely interrupted everyone’s meal.
“The Ministry of Magic hopes that Hogwarts will have a more just environment, not only in terms of education but also in the face of students who violate the rules.”
She glanced at the crowd, “Mr. Ottoman and Mr. Horrison, please stand up.”
Two fifth-grade boys stood up from the long table.
Sean’s brows were furrowed. Ottoman was from Slytherin, Horrison was from Gryffindor, and the two had a fight before Umbridge arrived.
The cause was Ottoman’s provocation and contempt towards Jorrison, who made discriminatory remarks against Horrison’s family after the Muggle attack. In the end, both of them entered the infirmary and just recovered.
The matter had already been resolved. Ottoman provoked first and acted very rudely. Horrison made the first move, but it was not a curse. Professor McGonagall had already announced the results of the incident. Both were wrong. Ottoman, who provoked first, was punished more severely.
Most of the students in the house agree with this decision.
Umbridge shook the parchment in his hand, “I’ve seen the cause and result of the whole incident, but I think the punishment for the two of you should be revised for the sake of fairness.”
