Faced with Christine’s outburst, Wentworth shrugged indifferently and remarked, “Can you blame me for it? You are the one that uses underhanded tactics. At least tell me what’s your affiliation, and what does that has to do with us!” Wentworth demanded with a fierce expression.
Christine almost impulsively revealed, “That’s not fun if I just tell you straight away.”
However, Christine then adopted a sly smile, took a few unhurried steps back, pulled over a chair, sat down, crossed her legs, and looked at Wentworth with a smile. She said, “Wentworth Grindelwald, you want to know who we are? Sure, I’ll fulfill your wish before your demise. But I won’t tell you because it’s too boring!”
Christine held her cheek with one hand and fell silent momentarily, as if contemplating something. Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she exclaimed, “Why don’t we play a game to lighten this mood up?”
She glanced at Wentworth, Green, and Cedric, standing together, and proposed with a smile, “The three of you against the three of us, everyone will have their chance to shine. If you win, you’ll get to ask a question.”
Wentworth, momentarily surprised, looked at Green and Cedric. Cedric nodded slightly, and after a brief pause, Wentworth inquired, “What happens if we lose?”
Amused by his question, Christine laughed for a while before dropping her smile, gazing at Wentworth fiercely. She declared, “Nothing’s going to happen if you lose, you all get to keep your life!”
Expressing dissatisfaction, Wentworth spread his hands and pouted, “This game doesn’t seem fair for you. It just doesn’t feel right…”
Christine, however, continued smiling and calmly stating, “Anyway, you’re all going to die today. Does it really matter how you meet your end? Might as well let us have some fun before you go! Perhaps I can make your demise a bit more enjoyable. After all, a banquet feels incomplete without some entertainment. Let’s brighten up the mood a bit, shall we?”
Without waiting for Wentworth’s response, Christine pointed to a wizard beside her and then gestured towards the three kids before them.
The indicated wizard eagerly approached Wentworth and the others, saying, “If the leader of the Alliance dies by my hand, it’ll be truly exhilarating to think about! My family will have stories to tell till my predecessors to come!”
As the wizard drew his wand, Wentworth surveyed the eager wizards around him and couldn’t help but sneer. The wizard questioned, “Why are you laughing?”
Wentworth turned to the excited wizard and replied slowly, “I laugh at your stupidity! Do you think the Alliance will let it slide if I die here today? If news spreads that you killed me, not only you but your entire family won’t escape punishment!”
The wizard paused, appearing to hesitate his action forward, but at that moment, Christine lazily remarked, “Wentworth Grindelwald, your provocation isn’t very clever! I’ll deal with it later. Don’t you worry the slightest about that and start thinking about your last will.”
Upon hearing Christine’s words, the wizard felt relieved, locking his eyes onto Wentworth as he provocatively declared, “My Father once lost to a wizard with the surname Grindelwald. Make me proud today as I prove to my Father I’ve ended the Grindelwald’s bloodline!”
Facing the provocation, Wentworth responded with a disapproving smile before gesturing to Cedric, saying, “Why don’t you try facing him, senior? I think he will be just the right opponent!”
Without hesitation, Cedric retrieved his wand from his arms and confidently approached the wizard. The wizard, momentarily stunned, sneered, “Why, Grindelwald? Feeling afraid? It made me satisfied knowing how much of a coward the current Grindelwald is!”
Christine also exaggeratedly expressed disbelief; she decided to taunt Wentworth much further, “Wow! Grindelwald, you are not actually scared, aren’t you?” Her lips smirked as she finished the sentence.
Unfazed by the ridicule, Wentworth remained expressionless, taking a few steps back. Mimicking Christine’s earlier actions, he pulled over a chair, sat on it, looked up at the wizard, and calmly stated, “You’re just a chess piece. Do you truly believe you’re the protagonist? As a chess piece, you should have the consciousness of a chess piece. Want to play with me? Are you even worthy?”
Turning his gaze to Christine, Wentworth continued, “I don’t play games; I set the rules! You can send people up in turn, but you must answer my questions every time you lose a game. We’ve come to a deal on that. For now, we’ll play and see how well you’ll fare against me and my friends.”
Christine observed Wentworth, who sat fearlessly across from her, and a sense of unease crept back into her heart.
She glanced at Cedric, who appeared to be only twelve or thirteen years old, wondering about the source of Wentworth’s confidence.
While contemplating, the wizard who had stepped forward felt deeply humiliated. Extending his wand, he pointed it at Wentworth and began to roar, “You wish you had Grindelwald’s blood running on your vein, kid…”
Before he could finish, a spell struck him, accompanied by the words, “Expelloarmus!” The wizard’s wand involuntarily flew out of his hand.
The sudden turn of events left Christine momentarily stunned. She looked at Cedric, who had cast the spell, then turned to Wentworth and questioned, “Do you want to die quickly?”
Wentworth casually pointed to the disarmed wizard and remarked, “You are the one breaking the rule here, your underlings babbled his mouth a bit too much! I am simply trying to educate him on such matters by following the rules…”
Christine, with a furrowed brow, asked in confusion, “Rules? What rules?”
Wentworth shifted his attention to Christine and stated emphatically, “My rules! The people that I haven’t given a permission yet shouldn’t dare to speak! While the people who are sitting with me don’t dare to move till I say so, my words are absolute. If you break those, then I’ll break your neck.”
Christine’s face washed with fear as she heard of Wentworth’s words… “Is this kid truly a student at Hogwarts? He possesses the same kind of quality as a Dark Lord…”
The other wizard could only gulp in response, questioning whether coming here was the right decision or not to face against the young Grindelwald.
